Yes, yes. I know. You’re looking at the last post and being all, “hey, what happened, this hadn’t been updated in like a month.”
And you’re right, it has been awhile. I’ve been busy, running around, doing a lot of things, a lot has happened–so now I got to go back to dat rapid fire details. I swear if I’m going to dwell on how great this post could have been I’m just gonna make myself feel bad lol. So — rapid fire.
- I made Brioche French Toast with nutmeg and it was yummy!
- My family came to visit from Cheyenne; we played card games, drank a little, they brought me Chipotle since I’m legit always craving that, and we had a great time. Slight hangover the next day, but we had a great time.
- Work got a new morning meteorologist, right outta college like I was. She is the third blonde in the office — we’re going to make jackets — and she seems really cool.
- I take Takeout Tuesday from Penny’s diner — BIG yummy.
- I’m making some progress in my hangman game in Python, but keep running into problems. But I’ll get it on of these days.
- I’ve also been working on some embroidery projects. I used to emborder and crochet a lot when I was younger, and it’s a great stress reliever.
- I made sugar cookies for my coworkers and mailed them off to Lincoln.
- I sent a birthday card to an old college friend of mine — a rather large one — and I think she liked it!
- I made my coworker a casserole again (the same one I made her before). That was before she came down with COVID. She’s been quarantining; I went grocery shopping for her to get her some easy meals and ice cream. She seems to be doing better. No worries, I tested negative.
- I made another YouTube video! Took forever to edit, though.
- There’s a fish tank at work now. I call them my Word Buddies
- I visited family in Cheyenne over a weekend — went on a little hike, made s’mores, ate a prime rib.
- I hate my oven. My oven is cursed. It takes forever to get up to temperature and it cooks unevenly. Imma call the landlord about that. I hate my oven. It no work properly.
- I’m working on WF’s birthday gift! Some I had to order online and I rally hope it arrives on time. The rest I made myself or bought.
- Went to Kearney and ate Freddy’s, took Doritos Taco Bell tacos home for me and coworkers.
And now, the best part–
There was a homeless man in our company car. Legit. No joke.
It was a Monday. I get a call from our lovely neighbor company across the street who politely inform me they called the police, because a strange man (who was not part of our staff) was sitting — bleeding — in a company car (must’ve been left unlocked by mistake). So, I grab an office key, grab my phone, go outside, at first didn’t see the guy was breathing (I thought he was dead), but then saw he was. He’s essentially past out, just sitting there, bleeding. Totally unresponsive. Naturally I take photos and video, telling my work group chat the play-by-play, wait for the cops, and generally am just super annoyed and cant believe this is happening.
The cope arrive, I tell them whats going on (that the neighbors called, that he’s unresponsive, that is was obviously not supposed to be there), and they get him out of the car and try to question him. I’m still giving work the play-by-play, I check the car to see if anythings missing, I give them, my name and all. Basically they think he must’ve been on some kind(s) of drug — he couldn’t answer any questions, and tried going through our front doors (which were locked). Cops took him away in handcuffs, I lock the car door, I thank the neighbors for calling the police (I didn’t see the guy since the shades were down), and went back to work.
So, yeah, fuck this guy:
