Well — I thought I was going to stay more up date on this thing, but you know what they say about plans: they have tendency to fall apart.
Several things have happened recently, of of which I have managed to write down, and the rest I’ve sort of just let roll off. So — here’s another round of rapid fire:

  • I got locked out of the office one morning. I forgot the door to our atrium lock automatically when I went out to speak to a viewer. It was quite a fuss and I was quite embarrassed.
  • I went over to visit WF to celebrate his birthday (I gave him a hand-made makeshift collection of poetry, a Spotify playlist of sorts and a bottle of coffee liquor)
  • I made Avocado Potato salad and spend some time with the weekend crew.
  • We got a new morning in-person meteorologist. He’s started to open up a little bit more, and we are discussing Question of the Day, but he still seems rather shy and quiet. He’s been in the industry awhile. We don’t have the same chemistry I has with our prior one, though.
  • I made a co-worker (a sports reporter) the same Southwest Chicken Casserole I have made co-workers in the past. It started as a joke (as in, he was joking about it) but I made him one anyway and texted “I have a casserole for you! Come get it when you’re ready” and he was totally surprised. But he gave me 10/10 on the quality and said it was very yummy and that I was kind for making him one.
  • I made Honey Walnut Shrimp. 10/10, very good — amazing.
  • I stopped as a few Nebraska Passport Program places close to town (three in one weekend, the fourth on a separate day); It was quite the adventure!
  • I got my return Dear Stranger letter from Humanities Nebraska and have continued correspondence with my pen-pal. She is a teacher who lives in either Omaha or Lincoln (I’d have to check) and enjoys cooking and Parks & Rec as well!
  • I changed my windshield wipers! All by myself — it was the first time I ever had to do it, and I did it! Although it did take me about 30 minutes.
  • More of our veteran staff members moved on, and we have gained two new staff members. They are very nice and I enjoy seeing them when I can.
  • I finally got around to talking to my higher-ups about the KNEP Scottsbluff show; this actually just happened today. I was very clear about the issues there (no “reveals” in graphics, no video at all except the ones I give them, wordy scripts, lack of staff). Hopefully talks about the situation will happen soon.
  • I’ve watched more Breaking Bad and quite love it. Skylar I strongly dislike, however. Well — loathe is more like it.
  • WF is visiting again for awhile.
  • I finally called about my oven — someone should come by today or tomorrow. If not, I’ll call the landlord again. I can’t take this stupid oven anymore.
  • I am ready for fall. I WANT ALL THE PUMPKIN-FLAVORED THINGS!
