Good afternoon blog-o-sphere! I’m feeling good today!

Naturally the latest thing on everyone’s mind is Joe Biden’s Inauguration as President of the United States, which I did in fact watch live the other day. I watched the whole swearing-in ceremony part, but only caught glimpses of the wreath-laying at Arlington Cemetery and the walk to the White House. Due to my sleep schedule, I was also forced to miss the performances and fireworks, but that’s alright! I got to watch the most important part unfold in real time, which is really cool to say: I got to watch history happen in real time.
I thought it was a lovely ceremony, and I feel hopeful about the future. Take that however you wish.
(Though, to be honest I was expecting something very bad to happen given the riots two weeks ago, but thankfully nothing did.)

Now since I work in news, of course this is the main focus of my shows right now. But aside from that — I am well. I know tomorrow is Friday and I’m seeing some coworkers that I haven’t seen in a long time! Not all of them (because of course we can’t all be off at the same time, otherwise there would be no news lol) but a few, and that’s honestly the best I can hope for. I’m eager to reconnect in person and ask how the Daytime Shift is treating them. The rest of the weekend is reserved for miscellaneous to-do items and a thorough deep clean of the apartment.

Sadly, however, there is not much to report. But I have to say that I’m okay with that. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes no news is good news. And since 2021 at first is like 2020 Part II, that’s the perspective I’m going with!

Until next time!
