I don’t think there is a more infamous film than 2003’s The Roomwritten, directed, produced, and starring Tommy Wiseau; best known for being an alien masquerading as a human and trying to act natural around other humans. This film is widely critiqued for being one of the worst films of all time and being one that has entered “so bad, it’s good” territory — and I watched it for the first time. After watching it over a beer and popcorn, here are my theories:

The Room is one of two things. Either it’s a film that very accurately depicts what a modern-day A.I. entity thinks humans talk like, sounds like, and act like; or a woman once rejected Wiseau’s advances and he was so pissed off and put-out about it that he dedicated six million dollars to making an entire film about it. I believe we are essentially watching a ninety minute fictional story based on Wiseau’s opinions and horrible experiences with a woman who didn’t want to sleep with him.
