A side project I’m working on amidst all the things on my To-Do list is my Project Pan, and right now it is more specifically focused on using up some older lip products I’ve owned for a very long time. I wanted to dedicate this first real project to lips and focus on those — but I accidentally hit actual pan on an actual product?? I did! I did it without even realizing it! I was doing my makeup yesterday like normal when I glanced down and noticed the shiny metal tin holding my Lawless powder.
Wait, I Hit Pan in What?
More often than not then I do my makeup, I use a foundation or tinted moisturizer and then set it (and my liquid blush) with a powder. I’ve done this basically my entire makeup career. The OG powder I used to wear (that I think I bought in college?) was the CoverGirl Professional Loose Finishing Powder and that worked for me and I never really thought to try another one. But once I used that product up, I wanted to try a powder that wasn’t loose and got literally all over my clothing and bathroom counter.
I remember going through some beauty reviews and doing a little bit of research, and I finally settled on the Lawless Perfecting Powder Talc-Free, Skin-Smoothing Powder in the shade 2-Light. This is one that won Allure’s Best of Beauty 2023 Award for Best Pressed Powder and it came highly recommended from YouTube so I ordered mine.
This was my first time trying a pressed powder but as soon I used it I knew I’d never go back to loose powder. Never again. I love what this product does to my skin — it sets my base makeup very nicely and makes everything look amazing — and I know this is for sure going to be a repurchase. It is very smoothing, very easy to apply, and makes my makeup look super natural. Plus the packaging is in this beautiful, mirror-like rose gold color and the flip-top is magnetic for a secure close.
How Long Did Hitting Pan Take Me?
I don’t think I made a Lawless Beauty account when I placed my order so I had to dig in my email and rely on Firefox URL Suggestions to remember when exactly I bought my Lawless Perfecting Powder Talc-Free, Skin-Smoothing Powder. Thank you, Firefox!
I ordered this powder and it got delivered in December 2023. I ordered it on the sixth and it was delivered on the ninth.
That’s crazy! I must’ve just hit pan during this past week, which means it’s taken me a little over eight months to hit pan in this powder! I am literally so shocked and so excited since I put myself on a quest to intentionally use up some of what I have in my collection. I had no intention of purposefully using this up or trying to make a dent in this one, I just use it so much on a weekly basis that I did.
When Will I Need to Repurchase?
The shiny metal tin that I see in the bottom of this Lawless package is smaller than a penny. I think it’ll still take me until at least December to see a larger amount of pan and to consider buying a new one. I have no idea how long it’s supposed to take to use up a pressed powder but I’m sure it’ll be another few months before I’m scraping at the edges trying to get the last of this on my brush. If I remember, I’ll check in when I do!
