Two major aspects of my life have converged to cause me to need a travel makeup bag. For the last year and a half or so, I’ve spent a fair amount of time away from my home; I’ve been spending several weeks housesitting or traveling, which means I’m away from my stash of makeup for longer periods of time. But I’ve also dived way more into makeup and expressing myself through makeup so typically a fair amount of product ends up traveling with me. So when Amazon Prime Day came around, I wanted to take the plunge and get a new travel bag.

How I Found This Amazon Cosmetics Bag

Earlier this year, in February, I bought myself a new catch-all bathroom bag for when I went on airplanes or was otherwise away from home. I settled on the Narwey Travel Makeup Bag in Wine Red from Amazon and bought it with my credit card rewards so it was basically free; I know this was sold as a cosmetics bag but I currently use it to hold most of my bathroom supplies (toothbrush, toothpaste, skincare, contacts, deodorant, etc). It’s been working out excellent so far and I really love how sleek and elegant it looks.

The only problem was that this bag couldn’t hold both my bathroom essentials and makeup. I have smaller makeup bags that I kept from Ipsy back in college but those are more for purse carrying, not packing in a suitcase. I was on the hunt for something I could splurge on that didn’t cost a ton of money (I’m looking at you, Charlotte Tilbury).

Enter: The CUBETASTIC Makeup Bag

I think you can probably tell by now that one area of YouTube I watch frequently is beauty-related and thus that is part of where I get my product recommendations. This is no exception. I heard about this one in passing — I wasn’t even purposefully looking for a cosmetic bag at the time — but when I looked it up I saw it was both on Amazon and at a price point I could get behind. The CUBETASTIC Makeup Bag is less than $20 and has everything I need to conveniently and compactly store all my makeup.

My Travel Makeup Bag Review

Since I’ve gotten more into wearing and enjoying makeup as a form of art and expression, I want to be able to travel with more than just a few products. I don’t have to take my entire collection with me (which is pretty small anyway) but I want the option to make a few different eyeshadow palettes and the lip products I’m trying to go through as part of my first Project Pan. The CUBETASTIC Makeup Bag I got in the Black Quilted version and not only is it foldable and compact, but it can hold an outrageous amount of makeup.

The front zip-up flap can easily hold eight makeup brushes (all the major ones I would need when away from the house) and I love that a clear barrier separates the brush holder from the main part of the bag. I can easily grab anything from this angle or from the top zipper. The black color I feel is very sleek, and texture is very durable, and the dark exterior is a nice contrast from the light pink interior. The two clear pockets in the main compartment I can hold like 10 products (including lippies, liquid blush, eye primer, mascara, etc.) and the main compartment itself I can hold like four eyeshadow palettes, my Lawless Perfecting Powder, a highlight, foundation, concealer, two ColourPop Super Shock Shadows, and way more.

My Beauty Review Verdict

Basically, this bag fits everything and I love it so much. I highly recommend this bag as a makeup tab or a general toiletry bag if you’re traveling; it comes in several different colors and the two main zipper openings make it easy to grab whatever you need. Don’t spend $40-$100 on anything when you can get this instead!
