The greatest investment in my own fitness and exercise experience was getting a Vegan Suede Yoga Mat from POPFLEX when they were having a holiday sale. Purchased in November 2023 around Thanksgiving, I have used this mat nearly every single day since then (minus vacations) for my regular barre workouts and morning yoga stretching.
The second greatest fitness investment I’ve ever made was asking for a Sperax Walking Pad from Amazon for Christmas (which i received) this past December. Allow me to explain.

Getting Your Daily Steps In Is Really Hard
I work a desk job, basically. My job involves a lot of typing and working on a computer. Which means I’ve been trying to get my daily steps in by going on walks outside after work (though I aim for about 5,000 instead of the typical 10K). But it’s really hard to do that when the weather is frigid and there is a lot of snow on the ground; that’s where a walking pad comes in.
I realized that though it may be hard to walk on a mini treadmill while I work (you know, the whole moving around and trying to do precise mouse-work) having one on-hand to use in the warm indoors is better than nothing. It’s better than missing out on outdoor walks during the winter season (or extremely hot days in the summer) and it’s better than being miserable in said weather. Thank you Santa, for coming through for me!

My Sperax Walking Pad Experience & Review
A walking pad is basically just the ground-half of a treadmill. The idea is to place it under your desk or in another spot where you can comfortably go for a stroll while working, watching TV, or listening to an audiobook (that’s me). My Sperax Walking Pad was incredibly easy to set up — yes it was heavy to carry up the stairs to my home office, but there was no assembly required when it came out of the box. Literally just unboxed it, plugged it in, and it worked!
I mainly use this at night when it’s too dark or too cold to walk outside; I put in my AirPods and listen to an audiobook while getting some steps in. You can easily control the speed with the little handheld remote and the pad keeps track of your time, distance, speed, and calories burned. I don’t pay too much attention to those personally, since I look at my pedometer for steps, but the walking is very smooth and it doesn’t stop right away — there is a little cool down period and it slowly comes to a stop.
I’m Going to Use This All The Time
In just the short time I’ve had this walking pad, I can tell I am going to use it so often. I’d rather walk outside when I can, but if I can’t — or if I get to a point where I can walk and work at the same time — it’s awesome to have something like this that isn’t the whole entire treadmill. Highly recommend this for standing desk users or anyone like me who wants it as a fitness plan backup!
