Hello everyone! Welcome back to our TBR Jar where we’ll be drawing our next slip of paper for July! I finished June’s pick, 56 Days By Catherine Ryan Howard and already have another pick lined up for my current pattern of switching from thriller to romance, to thriller, and back. That review is live if you want to take a look (I liked it way more than my May pick) but now it’s time to choose one for July!

Hand-Picking My Next July Read!

There’s still a lot of titles left in this little mug, but we’re slowly working through it one at a time! Ideally I would finish my next Audible book — Learn My Lesson (Wicked Villains Book #1) By Katee Robert — before the end of June but it’s okay if it bleeds into July. I do have two flights at the end of this month and the start of July, which should give me some time to listen uninterrupted and make progress. But while we get ready to dive into another romance, our next thriller is going to be…

…Pause for mug shaking and picking one…

A Mask Of Flies By Matthew Lyons. This is a paranormal horror thriller, published in August 2024, that sees our main character being stalked by grief and something not-quite-human in a secluded cabin after the death and burial of her partner-in-crime. Just the premise is giving me Pet Sematary vibes and I have to say — it’s a shame I can’t read this while literally staying in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, because I have and this would’ve been perfect to read then. Let’s hope it still gives me the creeps!
