Hey there everyone. How are you?
I know, I know it’s been awhile since I last updated. A few weeks, actually. A lot has happened since then and I can’t possibly go into every single detail. But I’ll do my best.

Last Days
My boss had her last day at the station. I got her a card — just telling her how much her hiring me meant and that I wish her well — and gave her a hug goodbye. And shortly afterward, my meteorologist had his last day, too. A lot’s been changing in the past few weeks and it’s got me thinking about my own future. I’m not sure when those two positions will be filled, but I’m prepared for it to be awhile.

Power Outages
Strong, strong winds came through town not too long ago and kept knocking out the power. Before this, the longest they were out were less than a half hour. But on this day, they were out for about an hour — and we had residual glitches in the following days due to the strong winds. What was funny tho is that they went off right as I was getting ready to cook. So I was preparing for the worst — I kept my fridge closed, Googling how long the food would stay good, thinking about if I should get takeout, setting more work alarms on my phone. I was preparing for a longer outage.
In fact, the wind was so bad it knocked over Audrey II and my deck furniture. I had to put her on the floor and lay the furniture down so it wouldn’t blow over again.

Gifts
I sent a director of ours a gift box. He’s a wrestling fan so I bought him a WWF Wrestling shirt and shipped that off with some cookies. Needless to day, he was very surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. I received a very grateful text message the morning it arrived. I also received a package from WF in the mail with some chocolate cake [cut like brownies] and some pictures of us in a beautiful black frame.

I also gave my coworker some Red Lobster Cheddar Buscuits that I made from a box mix and recorded me making; I put it on my YouTube channel just as a fun thing to do [might do more of those, every once in awhile. The video quality is poor but it’s also just for fun]. I meant to make them for her ages ago (she had them for the first time and thought they were amazing) but I finally managed to get a box mix from Walmart. She also thoroughly enjoyed them. And then today I made her a southwestern chicken pasta casserole which she also enjoyed.

Shopping Spree
The other weekend, that same coworker and I went out of town for the day and treated ourselves to lunch and a shopping spree. It was my first time in a town called Kearney, and it was such a fun time. Of course, it didn’t occur to us until we were actually shopping that we couldn’t try stuff on, but everything I bought ended up fitting perfectly anyway. Because I’m just that amazing.

At lunch I had this delicious Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich with Onion Straws and a Raspberry Moscow Mule, and then we went to a whole slew of places; Marshalls, Ross, Target, Buffalo Wild Wings. I got myself a pint-sized ice cream maker — cuz I’m an adult — some dresses, a new work shirt, a new purse, a casserole dish, a candle (it smells like sandlewood, which reminds me of Mexico), and some black leggings. We also got her cat, Tito, some new stuff, including this adorable little collar and some items to make him less anxious.

Colorado Weekend
I took a trip to visit my family and WF. My Memorial Day holiday was on a Friday, so I turned it into a proper 3-day weekend. It was wonderful; visiting family, hanging out, eating the most delicious Indian Food, watching Network and other films, chatting. It was a wonderful weekend away from work (considering that’s when the riots broke out nationwide). I swear, every time I go back to CO I never want to leave.

COVID-19 Test
TestNebraska said I finally qualified for a test. I figured “why not?” I got my test yesterday. Should get results within 48 hours.

Cooking

  • Sliders & Hushpuppies
  • Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits
  • Pho/Ramen
  • Fried Cabbage
  • Vegetarian Sushi Bowl [I rediscovered how good tofu can taste when you marinate it]
  • Fried Egg Sandwhich [tried something new and found it delicous. Fried egg, cheese, bacon, toasted bread]
  • Southwestern Chicken Pasta Bake [substituted Alfredo sauce for salsa verde and added tomatoes. Coworker says it’s very good]

But that’s it– I’m sorry I can’t be more descriptive than that. A lot is going on. Here’s to figuring it all out.
