As a very fair-skinned girlie, I’ve always had to deal with the lingering threat of sunburn. I’ve been burned everywhere — the worst, perhaps, being on the back of my knees in Arizona or the entire front side of my body in Mexico — but the place I’m sure to burn first is my cheeks. But having worn lotion sunscreen all my life, because spray sunscreen could never do it for me, I was eager to find a sunscreen that I enjoyed wearing and didn’t feel overly greasy.

Tula Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen Review

I remember hearing about Tula skincare from Beauty YouTube and giving it a shot after researching it a bit more. I know how valuable and important it is to wear sunscreen on your face; yet my biggest problem has always been feeling like I’m slathering pore-clogged, greasy goop onto my face that makes my skin feel gross. Especially in very humid climates like Florida. I hate putting on a thick layer of sunscreen that will take forever to scrape off in the shower.

Tula’s Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen, however, is exactly what I was looking for. It boasts an SPF 30 formula with skincare-focused ingredients like ginger root, pineapple, and papaya, all while being very smooth to apply and work into the skin. What stands out to me about this sunscreen is how light it is; it goes on similar to a serum, isn’t greasy to all, and is still very easy to wear in both dry and humid climates. You only need maybe a pea-sized amount or two, meaning even the smallest bottle can easily last you a while.

Invisible Sunscreen Is A Thing Now?

Tula is my daily sunscreen whenever I’m traveling or are otherwise away from home. But while in Disney World not too long ago, I came across the Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen that is, I’m told, meant to be a dupe of the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. Both are clear/translucent versions of sunscreen that offer the same general SPF protection but without the annoying white streaks or greasy feel of traditional formulas.

I’d heard of Supergoop before and was initially turned off because I assumed it came with a super high price tag. And there is a limit to what I am willing to spend on makeup, skincare, and other beauty-related products. But with a trip to Hawaii coming up in the next few weeks, I’m interested to test out Supergoop and compare it to Tula, even if it is $22 for less than an ounce of product.

Let’s Compare the Two & See

My plan is to bring both the Tula’s Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen (SPF 30) and Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen (SPF 40) to Hawaii with me and see how they both feel on my skin. Tula’s formula on its own has a more gentle color and isn’t as harsh as your typical white sunscreen, but invisible sunscreen that has good ingredients, is sweat resistant, and as double as a primer? That I need to try. Let’s see how this goes!
