I really love coffee. While I do enjoy tea, and I enjoy a good cup of tea in the afternoon or before bed, I love coffee. And I’ve honestly been getting way more into coffee lately. Most of it is because I’ve recently deep-dived into this barista YouTube channel Stefania Marzelia and that’s what honestly caused me to once again take my coffee a little more seriously and to enjoy it a lot more. I’ve seen a lot of YouTube shorts from this channel in the past, about a former Starbucks barista, but it wasn’t until last week or so that I viewed some of her other videos. And once again falling down that rabbit hole I’ve been doing a lot of things lately.
Upgrading My Morning Coffee
So at some point while watching Stefania Marzelia I came across a site I can’t gate-keep: At Home Starbucks. Did you know this was a thing? I didn’t! But it’s a site that not only lets you buy Starbucks coffee products to have at home, but it also includes a recipe section where you can look up specific instructions on how to make drinks! That’s amazing! Anyway, the only one I’ve tried so far has been the Golden Turmeric Latte; while I didn’t have any espresso and just used normally brewed coffee, it was delicious and I am here for all the fancy coffee.
So I’m watching this coffee YouTuber, and making my fancy coffee, and I really started to get more into frothing the creamer I usually put in my coffee. This is something I used to do a lot, but it was just pouring in some creamer — I’ve been using Nut Pods a lot since it’s dairy-free and has no added sugar — using a frother to make it all foamy, and them pouring in the coffee to make a little DIY latte sort of beverage. I would LOVE to get back into the syrups and make it all super fancy, but we’re trying to be a little healthier so you know — one step at a time.
I Found Kauai Coffee On the Mainland
Backstory: when I was in Hawaii in May, I visited the island of Kauai and got to visit the Kauai Coffee Company plantation where they grow the beans and prepare the coffee. I taste-tested a few and they were amazing! I didn’t buy any for myself at the time but I subscribed to their newsletter and planned on buying some online at some point.
However, when I was in Safeway and looking for creamer and a second milk frother, I found Kauai Coffee! It was right there! I didn’t have to order it online! Hooray! So I picked up a bag of their Coconut Caramel Crunch, a medium roast, and made myself a fancy little coffee the next morning. Not only was the coffee itself AMAZING, but I had two cups that Thursday workday and was cruising through my schedule no problem. Needless to say I will be buying more of that.
I Finally Got A Downstairs Coffee Maker
Everything above happened within three to four days at a point when I was not at home. So when I did get back home, I showed the coffee to my boyfriend and told him he had to try it. Well, that led to him taking the initiative and getting an Amazon Basics coffeemaker to keep downstairs where we could make our own little brews of whatever kind of coffee we want. Made a brew of that Coconut Caramel Crunch, had him taste it, he loved it, and now in the few days we’ve had this coffeemaker we’ve used it like six times. This is honestly such a game-changer for my life right now.
Coffee Is Amazing And I Love It
I know for sure I’m in a phase where I want to do a little more with my coffee before I drink it. I have done the black coffee mornings before and that’s still totally fine for me, but I’m in a phase right now where I want to do more. If I had my own house I would get way more into this but even something as simple as using a milk frother has made me feel a little more fancy.
