Good morning everyone! How are you?
I have news on things that have been happening this past week or so! Well…more or less. Really I have two major things to talk about, but first let’s all take a moment to celebrate that it’s February 2020 now!
Yey!

….okay not onto the stuff:

Part I: Family Visit
So the weekend of Jan 25 and 26, my mother and grandmother came to visit me in Nebraska (as you can see from above). Now I’m not sure how to get the full post with all the photos to appear in the embedded post, so I’ll just have to give you a quick rundown of what all we did:
Well we had lunch at The Good Life on the Bricks — I had their burger with jalapenos and cream cheese, which is one of the greatest food combinations in the world — and stopped by the KNOP studio. showed them where I sit and produce the morning show; where I sit and read from the anchor’s desk; where I fix up my hair before the show and put on my microphone; and of course the sets and green screen.
Honestly it was so much fun and just so cool to show them “behind the scenes.” I mean, it’s funny — all that is just “work,” to me, it’s normal, but to everyone else it’s really cool to be on TV and all. Both my mother and grandmother honestly got a really good kick out of our “makeup department,” which is just a shelf with a mirror where we apply our own makeup.
Anyway, I drove them to the Trading Post, and past Buffalo Bill’s Historical Ranch, and we had dinner at the Perkins in town (which I had never been to before, but apparently it’s a larger chain). We discovered they’ll have to come back when it’s summer because that’s when all this historical places are open. But what was really cute was our little slumber party; they had gotten a hotel room and I spent the night with them. So we played card games and watched Hallmark Channel movies and just talked — it was really cute. I love them.

Part II: Colorado Visit
Now, last weekend (Super Bowl 54 weekend, which I did not watch but everyone tells me I didn’t have to) I drove back to Colorado to visit Weekend Friend and his family. Before that I dropped by the auto shop to get my car all checked out, just to make sure it’d make the trip there and back.
But it’s always so good to see him — and in fact I’m going to see him again for the 15th-16th when I go back to celebrate my early birthday. I was trying to hurry away from work Friday morning so I could quickly shower and head out. I had lunch at Chipotle with my family before I went over to see him because I miss Chipotle so much. Qudoba is not good enough. I want Chipotle and I miss it so much. So I got my yummy-food fix.
But anyway we had a great time! I made a deal with him that I’d take him out to dinner with the money I won from my Las Vegas trip, so he showed me this delicious Indian place called Haveli. I had their Chicken Tikka Masala and Gobi Manchurian, both of which were heavenly. Then over the weekend we went to IKEA and had lunch there; dropped by a nursery to get him some houseplants and me a succulent; watched Baby Driver; played with the dogs. . . it was a really great time and I can’t wait to see him again.

Oh! In fact, I got Weekend Friend a Valentines Day gift! Part of it I actually bought before Christmas and decided to save it for Valentines Day, so I’ll give it to him the next time I see him. Below is what it looks like now that it’s all wrapped up; I made the roses out of paper and then painted when with a mixture of water and red food coloring, so they’d look all nice 🙂

But that’s all for now! Talk to you again soon! Though you may see a different in the “Resume” tab on this website as I’m doing some rearranging!
