Once of the biggest mistakes I ever made for my wallet was discovering ColourPop Cosmetics as a brand and then subscribing to their email newsletters. I say this because often I see a lot of makeup products that I’d like to buy, and then the rational part of my brain has to come in and stop me from buying it all. This was the case with their recent Pokemon and Disney collaborations and has been the case for at least a few years now.
However, recently ColourPop announced their So Juicy Plumping Gloss Balm With Peptides and I knew I really wanted to try it out. Naturally, I had to take this chance to get one other lip product — my first-ever lip oil — and make it into more of an official “makeup haul,” the smallest one probably to ever exist.
What’s in This Makeup Haul?
Here’s what intrigued me about the So Juicy lip products: they’re a balm (I’m here for all the hydration), but with color (love that) and it’s supposed to be plumping. I have only ever owned one plumping lip gloss and that’s the Lip Injection Plumping Lip Gloss, which I can tell works and only gives me a little tingly feeling that I actually kind of like. But if I could get that same effect while also getting the shine of a gloss and the hydration of a balm, then I’m all for it.
So Juicy Plumping Gloss Balm With Peptides
I got the So Juicy gloss balm in the shade “Vaycay Mode,” which the brand describes as a “pinky nude” color. When swatched on the skin, it is more sheer the way you’d expect a color gloss to be and is more of a light mauve/coral pink; I’d say it’s pretty accurate to the swatch you see on the website. I can also feel the tinglyness on my hand that I assume is the plumping effect. I’m really excited to try this one — I think it’ll be enough to give me a light color without being too overwhelming.
Lux Lip Oil
Since I knew I was already trying a new type of lip product, I’d figured why not try another? I’ve never in my life tried a lip oil, which I think is similar to a gloss (in that it’s sheer and transparent) but is also supposed to be hydrating. Which again — with my dry lips, I’m all for something like this. I ordered the Lux Lip Oil in the shade “Fresh Peach,” which has a very subtle orange peach color when swatched. It’s not a color that I usually go for, which is why I wanted to specifically try the Fresh Peach, and it seems to be more of a gloss than anything. I’ll have to see if the color comes through on the lips!
Stay Tuned For the Makeup Haul Review
I’m really excited to try both these products! My plan is to wear them both a few times to get a feel for the color, how they feel on the lips, and how well they stay. Like I said, I’m very interested to see how well the So Juicy plumping works and if I can even tell a difference with the Fresh Peach oil on. We’ll test them out and see how they do!
