Following Super Bowl LVIII back in February and all the Russell Wilson dumpster fire with the Broncos, I think I figured out exactly why I couldn’t be a football fan. I do enjoy Super Bowl parties, and I love the halftime shows and the commercials, but even though I’ve seen more casual football in the past few months, I’ve realized I don’t think I could be a passionate or regular fan.

Maybe it’s because I’m more into hockey — which is a very fast-paced, adrenaline-filled sport — but football moves far too slow. All the players line up, and then run for a bit and tackle, but then the play stops. And for some reason the clock still counts down even when nothing is happening. It is exciting when a player runs all the way to the end and makes a touchdown, but for the most part football is very slow and doesn’t really grab me.

I’m really just here for the times when the camera pans to Taylor Swift.
