I spent that last week on a family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort — one of many we’ve taken over the years and will no doubt continue to take moving forward. Over the years we’ve figured out the exact science of not only planning a Disney World trip, but also planning and navigating each day so we hit all the major attractions without spending hours on end waiting in line. Most if not all of the credit goes to my father, but if I could give one personal tip to families thinking of visiting a Disney theme park it’s this:
Do not bring a stroller.
Walking through the parks I see so many parents of very young children trying to navigate crowds with strollers and trying to find stroller parking (and I imagine trying to find it again after the ride and hoping nobody else took it by mistake). Usually filled to the brim with child care supplies, bags of souvenirs, bubble wands, and other essentials, it all seems like a huge hassle that’s not worth it to deal with.
My advice? Do not bring a stroller to Disney World parks. Wait until your child is old enough to walk around the park with you; is old enough to recognize all the characters; and is old enough to remember the trip. Even if you do half-days at the parks, you’ll enjoy everything to the fullest.
