One of the financial goals I set for myself this year was to avoid buying things I don’t need. Dubbed the “Low Buy Challenge” to guarantee social media virality, it’s all about focusing on purchasing items I truly need; waiting until they are completely used up before repurchasing; and buying wants sparingly. I’ve taken to cultivating what I call a mindset of abundance — realizing that everything isn’t suddenly going to disappear and I don’t have to buy all the things right now. There is no scarcity. That’s what I’m trying to keep in the back of my mind this year when it comes to money because I truly don’t have to blow my budget on anything. It’ll still be there tomorrow.
