I wouldn’t call myself a sports girlie. I like to frequently and avidly watch one sport — NHL hockey — and I am trying to get a little more into basketball, but other than that I don’t really get into sports. This is probably a good thing. Because the thing nobody tells you about becoming a fan of a certain team is the players you love don’t necessarily stay in one city. Sometimes one of your favorite players gets traded out of nowhere and you just have to deal with the mental and emotional turmoil of not seeing a pillar of the team on home ice anymore. That part isn’t so fun. 0/10 do not recommend. Nobody warned me about this going in and I was vastly underprepared!
