There are a number of beauty-related things I have not tried yet or have tried for the first time very recently. It was not until maybe two weeks ago that I tried bronzer (cream bronzer, to be precise) as a standalone product for the first time. I requested it in my Spring 2024 FabFitFun box and it’s a DIBS Beauty® Desert Island Blush/Bronzer Duo. But another recent first-time try: dry shampoo.
My Current Hair Washing Routine
I wash my hair just about every other day or every two days. After two days I notice my roots are a little oily and my hair just overall feels very dirty. I never had a reason to try out dry shampoo, so I never did, but after getting a set of Glamnetic Press On Nails in my Christmas stocking I wanted to try it out. I have no idea how to properly and safely wash your hair with fake nails on, so maybe dry shampoo is a good investment for in-between hair washes.
My First Time Trying Dry Shampoo
I picked up a bottle of Batiste Dry Shampoo Bare (barely scented) and as advertised, the smell is light, pleasant, misty, and not as heavy as a perfume or Bath & Body Works products. I was surprised at how it was coming out of the bottle, like a very aggressive hairspray, but I could see a difference in my roots right away. I have used it twice now and love the “smidge of freesia and lemon;” even though it feels a little violent spraying onto my hair, it feels like it’s barely there and doesn’t weigh down my hair.
My Beauty Review Verdict
Recommend it 100%. Useful, lightweight, pleasant scent — I hope it can carry me through hair washing cycles when I try the Glamnetic nails, as my biggest fear is damaging them in the shower. But Batiste is perfect if you need it in a pinch or need a little hair refresh.
