Good afternoon! How are you, reader?
I have to say, I’m a little disappointed with our old pal Punxsutawney Phil; I watch him get woken up from his little bitty burrow, and then be predicts six more weeks of winter? I want more spring!
But I suppose I can’t get too mad at him. I watched the NBC livestream of the Groundhog Day ceremony in between commercial breaks on Tuesday and watched them knock on the little guy’s door and drag his sleepy self into the daylight. It’s so adorable seeing the group of well-dressed people carry on the tradition — holding Phil high into the air and reading off the scroll. It’s really just the cutest thing ever. But he saw his shadow, which means more cold weather is on the way; I guess we’ll see if he’s right! Though I think the Nebraskan groundhog predicted spring for us.

Oh! Speaking of weather — the past two days have been so strange! Overnight it will get super cold and everything will be frosted over, but then it’ll be all warm and feel like summer by 11 a.m. So I’m scraping off my windows and back windshield right after work, only to go outside without a coat in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop in the next few days, but it’s just been strange lately.

Aside from our adorable little friend, what else is new? Well, actually, a new business recently opened up in town! It’s called The Fix — it’s basically a protein shake/smoothie store, and it is legit about ten yards from my station! Which is dangerous, because that is where all my money is going to go now. WF and I tried the place this past weekend (he got a blended tea sort of drink, I got a peanut butter protein shake) and it was very good! Not too high in calories and not too sweet in flavor. I stopped by after work yesterday and tried a cookie dough protein shake as well (but I like the peanut butter one better). The problem is they have legit two dozen different flavors and now I want to try all of them! It’s like drinking a milkshake that’s better for you. The business opened about two or three weeks ago (and for some reason is only open on weekdays?) and it’s for sure one of my new favorites.

Work has been going alright, nothing to write home about. I think I may adjust my sleep schedule/timing, though. I think I may start sleeping in an extra 15 minutes, which would push my entire work schedule about a half hour forward. But I’m confident it will have a low negative impact on my overall work schedule and a positive impact on my sleeping.
The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche have been playing a lot and winning a lot lately, so that’s a plus as well.
I’m going to make scones today! Maybe with a little almond extract — with cream cheese and dill sandwiches and a little teapot of tea! WF is eating a bowl of cereal now for lunch, so maybe I should get a move on too.

Here’s to more spring, and a safe/fun time in Colorado this weekend!
