Well good afternoon — or at least, it’s afternoon right now! About 1:20 p.m.
I know I haven’t posted anything new and it’s been over a week now, but really there isn’t much to say…..well, I take that back. That’s not true. There is a lot to say but I physically cannot put it into words
Ive done some cooking, yes. Both the presence of company and not I have made crepes filled with mascapone cheese, chocolate chips and raspberries; cheese-and-almond-filled dates; chocolate croissants; mac and cheese with a baked breadcrumb crust; roasted brussel sprouts; bread pudding with leftover french bread; risotto with scallops; sundried tomatoes; and gummy bears soaked in vodka.
But truthfully that all pales in comparison to how life is going at the moment. I’m happy. Someone whom I consider to be my best friend stayed with me for the better part of a week — we chilled and watch cartoons; we checked out the local Pals Brewing Company (their Strawberry Fields beer is very good); we watched the Colorado Avalanche game and cooked together; we painted in canvas — me a sunset on the water, him an abstract frog.
My makeup, clothes and printer toner all arrived earlier than expected; winter weather will make work easy tomorrow — to be honest an expected 6 to 8 inches of snow is expected. I wish this was back in my school days where work could be cancelled and I could stay at home all warm with my cozy pajamas and a cup of coffee. There’s about a 1% chance the power will go out during work tomorrow….it’s like back when Id put a metal spoon under my pillow as a ritual for a snow day…. then promise to some deity I’d be so productive if we got one…. and proceed to waste the entire day. Its actually really sunny now, you wouldn’t believe a storm is coming. We’ll see if I make it back home for Thanksgiving.
I’m really comfortable right now. I am.
