After two long, sunny, much-deserved weeks in Hawaii, I’m back with another review of both the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and Tula Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen. I took both of these products with me to see how both would hold up in the constant sunshine and if I gravitated toward one or the other over the course of the trip. It was noticeably more humid on Maui and Kauai and so much hot, beautiful sunshine that I wore a hat nearly every single day. But as an extra layer of protection against red cheeks, I wore sunscreen nearly every single day. How did Wear Test #2 turn out?

My Plan for Wear Test #2

This time around, I did not make a clear effort to use both products for the purpose of testing them both; I feel like I already gave a good, thorough first impression with my Wear Test #1. Instead I wanted to see which one I naturally gravitated to based on the effectiveness of the SPF, how easy it was to apply in the hot humidity, and how easy it was to just throw it into my fanny pack while traveling.

Have you ever heard of the trick of flipping a coin, not to see the result but to know which one you’re secretly hoping for while it’s in the air? I wanted this to be like that — I think it’s the best way to see which sunscreen I would probably be most likely to use while traveling and in a lot of sun.

The Clear Favorite Sunscreen

Within the first few days of being on Maui, I knew what I was hoping for when the coin was in the air. I initially went for the Supergoop Unseen because of its slightly smaller bottle size, transparent appearance, and ease of application. But day after day, I found myself picking that one up more and more. The smooth texture and non-glowy feel I think worked very well when I was already going to be pretty sweaty and it was incredibly easy to throw into my fanny pack. I honestly think I only used the Tula once on the entire trip as a second layer of protection after a shower and before a sunset dinner.

My Beauty Review Verdict(s)

My initial review of Tula vs. Supergoop is still very accurate to how I feel following this travel-oriented Wear Test. The Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is for sure the better option for convenience and reapplication, which is exactly what you want when you’re away from home and don’t have all your normal bathroom products. Again, it’s very easy to apply without needing to rub in all the white residue, it feels great on the skin, and it still provides the protection you need. It’s the perfect purse staple.

I still stand by my review of the Tula Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen; it is likely better for everyday at-home wear and for when you’re looking for a more glowy finish. The bottle is still travel-friendly at 1.7 oz, but at least for me this is a sunscreen I’d be way more likely to use at home in my full bathroom.
